Port Sorell is a charming coastal fishing village on the North Coast of Tasmania where the Rubicon River meets the Port Sorell Estuary.

Across the bay from Port Sorell is Narawntapu National Park famous for the wombats, kangaroos, wallabies, and Tasmanian devils, plus the dunes and beaches.  Narawntapu is bordered by the Port Sorell Estuary and wild Bakers Beach and Archers Knob.

Fairy penguinsThere are a number of small islands in the bay and we can tell you where you can collect naturally growing oysters and see fairy penguins in the wild.

These islands and the National Park are within paddling distance - you are welcome to borrow our canoe - or you can access the National Park by car (20 minutes drive around the bay).

Beautiful beaches and a gently flowing tidal river create an idyllic setting for this relaxing getaway.

You are also welcome to use our bikes to explore the local area via a number of easy cycle and walking paths tracing the waters edge.

Tennis courts, a golf course, cafes, restaurants and a small shopping center providing basic amenities and are all a short stroll from Heron on Earth.
